Our Mission
Ventures for Inspired Action (VIA) is a non-profit, educational organization, whose mission is to create a fairer, more civil and more humane world by changing attitudes and behaviors, leading to cruelty, distress and suffering among all beings in societies throughout the world. We achieve our objectives through the support and funding of community-based, social enterprises that are active on the ground where the problems occur.
The fundamental principle driving VIA is the belief in the essential role of the individual with passion and commitment to lead others in bringing about personal and social change. We also believe in the natural goodwill and desire of the many to offer their time and efforts for the pleasure of contributing to a better, more equitable world. Our goal is to join forces with these inspired, social entrepreneurs and their following by adding strategic expertise and funds in assisting them in realizing their visions.
Direct action, education and awareness-building are the principle methods we support for bringing about change and transforming behavior. Our objectives are to improve the conditions of people’s lives and offer those who have been victims new choices and new opportunities.
In addition, we support, through our Golden Circle initiatives, organizations that focus on the prevention of cruelty to animals. We believe that the dynamics leading to the victimization of and cruelty to animals can mirror those in the violence committed between humans. Our objectives are to alleviate the suffering of the animals themselves, and to use the process as an effective, educational tool to teach and encourage compassion and humane behavior towards all life.
