VIA is an organization with a strong entrepreneurial philosophy. Our role is that of strategic partner, and we act as facilitators and advisors in assisting the social entrepreneur achieve and sustain his/her goals.
Our Advisory Board is comprised of individuals with a broad range of backgrounds, including direct experience in founding, managing and growing successful organizations. Our model is that of the venture capitalist who, in our case, invests in the vision, ideas and potential of inspired individuals, whose work will benefit their community and society. VIA adds to the process funds, professional expertise and experience to help social entrepreneurs grow and maintain their organizations. In return, we seek maximum effectiveness in the deployment of the money we invest; and the efficient duplication of these programs through our collective and accumulating experience. All recipients of VIA funding pledge to share their knowledge and experiences with other social entrepreneurs who would start similar programs in their own communities
For projects of larger scope, VIA seeks partnerships with other NGOs, private business organizations, governments and micro-lending banks to help our partners realize the full scope of their visions.
